I started powerlifting in 2019 after I watched my cousin compete at her novice powerlifting competition and was inspired by how other women out there lift heavy weights.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

What does your competition day look like?
Not a ritual but I tend to have a little nap or shut my eyes with my headphones on once I get to the venue just to zone out before competing.
What is the most important mental aspect of your training and competing?
Blocking everything and everyone out helps me focus before a big lift in training or competition.
Who are your role models and why?
My parents always! Their determination and hardwork in life has inspired me to be then same.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start in the sport?
Don't compare yourself to others. Do you boo!
What are your plans and goals for the future in your sport and generally?
Goals in powerlifting is to hopefully be invited to compete at Sheffield! Future plans in life are to travel and take my daughter around the world.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the gym/sport?
Spending quality time with my husband and daughter.
