About Me

After training at F45 for a few years, one of the trainers there recommended I start to try out Strongman at a strength and conditioning gym in 2019. I began training at Adonis Athletics under Mitch Mayhew completely fresh to the sport. Just under 5 years later, I've competed at state, national and international levels and hold national records.

Best Sporting Moment

Qualifying to compete at world level and compete against international athletes and world record holders. This opportunity was a testament to the countless hours of training and dedication I had put into my sport. It allowed me to measure my skills against the very best athletes from all corners of the globe. Representing my country on a world-level stage was a privilege.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

What does your competition day look like (Do you have a pre-comp ritual or superstitions)?
It all starts with prioritising rest and recovery from previous training. Nutrition is a key focus, with a balanced and easily digestible breakfast with protein and carbs while staying well-hydrated. Mentally, I engage in visualisation and relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety and enhance my focus. I perform a light physical warmup to prepare my muscles and joints, check my gear and equipment and have final discussions with my coach. I arrive early at the venue and will then immerse myself in the atmosphere and vibe around me to keep my nerves at a minimum by catching up with my friends and fellow athletes.
What is the most important mental aspect of your training and competing?
Building mental resilience and toughness through self-belief. As a Strongwoman, I face physically demanding training sessions and competitions. Maintaining a strong mindset, staying focused and pushing through pain is crucial for success.
Who are your role models and why?
My coach, Max McCall. He strives to learn and grow as a mentor but also an athlete. He understands the importance of acquiring knowledge and accessing personal growth. Max demonstrates curiosity, perseverance and a growth mindset. He inspires and motivates me to achieve better by guiding me to become a well-rounded athlete. Max also has the willingness to admit he may not always have all the answers and demonstrates a culture of education and intellectual development.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start in the sport?
Do not compare yourself to others! Strength gains vary from person to person due to genetics, training history and many other factors. Every person has unique goals and requires different approaches, making comparisons less meaningful. Realising that strength gains take time and consistent training is key. Focusing on your personal goals, progress and the joy of the sport is the most sustainable and rewarding mindset to apply.
What are your plans and goals for the future in your sport and generally?
I want to continue to ask women to find confidence and courage in pushing their limits. I aim to be a positive role model while continuing to compete at high-level shows.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the gym/sport?
Just spending quality time with my friends and family. Competing in strongman can be an incredibly selfish sport, especially when in competition prep so I enjoy the downtime when I have the opportunity to see those in my circle.
