About Me

I participated in a kilt run at the Scottish Highland Games in 2017. I jumped in and tried the inaugural ladies stone event for a laugh. I ended up winning the event and was hooked from then on.

Athlete Spotlight

What does your competition day look like (Do you have a pre-comp ritual or superstitions)?
I like to eat a pizza or a steak sandwich the night before a comp. On the day, I have no rituals or superstitions. They are only excuses for people to use when they fail their lifts. If I fail, it's because I need to work harder, not because I didn't wear lucky underpants.
What is the most important mental aspect of your training and competing?
Consistency and sacrifice. You wouldn't believe how much I've sacrificed to remain consistent and focused. Also, investing in mindfulness and psychology has been incredibly beneficial.
Who are your role models and why?
I inspire myself - Over the years, I've had so much to prove to myself.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start in the sport?
Don't wait as long as I did to get into Strongman. Don't fear strength sports because the weights seem impossible and the lifts look scary. We all had to start somewhere, including me. Take that step and find out what your body is truly capable of. I guarantee it's more than you've ever thought possible.
What are your plans and goals for the future in your sport and generally?
I would like to achieve Australia's Strongest Woman u82kg for the 3rd year in a row. I'd also entertain competing internationally in the Master's category.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the gym/sport?
If I'm not working or training, you'll find me at the beach with my fat Staffy.
